Bio: Sarah Zou is 4th-year PhD student at Stanford University in Prof. Craig Levin’s Molecular Imaging and Instrumentation Lab. Her research focuses on signal processing methods to measure multiple biomarkers with PET through imaging of prompt-gamma positron emitters and kinetic modeling.
Abstract: Simultaneous multi-tracer PET offers the possibility of measuring multiple molecular targets in a single imaging session, but requires methods for separating overlapping tracer signals in the measured data. In this talk, I will discuss practical considerations for simultaneous multi-tracer PET, including acquisition design, tracer selection, prompt-gamma-based separation, and kinetic unmixing approaches. I will also share lessons learned from phantom, preclinical, and simulation studies, with an emphasis on common challenges and implementation details that arise when moving from concept to experiment.
